Let It Go
Live 2015

Iska Dhaaf, literally “let it go” in Somali, is an pure art-oriented duo. In pursuit of honesty, Benjamin and Nathan dedicate entire nights to their music production, not seeing the daily light for weeks. Inspired by Sufi poetry, their words are powerful and essential, while their rhythms are heavy and unsteady. What make them even more special is the enthusiastic and positive attitude to life and music they have. They´re definitely a ()

Thank You
Matze & Pierre

Thanks to Matze & Pierre from Mit Vergnügen for celebrating a lovely Christmassy evening with us. And of course, big thanks to all the musicians! Here are some impressions, sketched by Alexandra Klobouk.

Aidan Knight
Concert

We’ve decided to celebrate the arrival of the cold season with a warm Canadian voice. This Tuesday evening (24.11.15) Aidan Knight will share with his new album with us, a journal of his life that he wrote to keep track of his experiences. Each Other can be seen as the diary that he never wrote as a child and that he’s writing now to imprint the memories of his ideas, adventures and life steps. A moody, acoustic time travel in ()

Basia Bulat
Concert

On a Friday evening a couple of weeks ago, we welcomed Basia Bulat and her array of small stringed instruments to our lobby. Thank you for a wonderful performance Basia!

Musée Mecanique
Concert

Next Wednesday (20.05), we welcome Musée Mecanique to the hotel to play. They hail from Portland, Oregon, and are fronted by singer-songwriters Micah Rabwin and Sean Ogilvie. The lyrics of their songs are full of adventure, travel and movement, something they are fully living with their latest tour. In their recent album, From Shores of Sleep this nostalgic and dreamy band were searching the perfect sound of a voyage, as if trying to recreate ()

DJ Hartmut
Tonight!

The one and only DJ Hartmut will be burning up the vinyl, ripping up the MP3’s and peeing in the piano tonight from 9.30pm.

Liam Hayes &
Plush Concert

Plush is Liam Hayes. Plush is a band. Liam Hayes is Plush. Liam Hayes is a songwriter. Liam Hayes has been making music under his name or the alias Plush since the early 90’s and his new album Slurrup will be released tomorrow (13.01.15) on the Fat Possum Record label. Nostalgic for the Sixties vibes, Liam is definitely a charismatic and eccentric character with a very strong cinematographic inclination. His psychedelic pop music sounds like a movie ()

SomeKindaWonderful
Concert

This Wednesday (17.12) we welcome SomeKindaWonderful to the lobby to play. These fateful devotees of a tiny bar in the suburb of Cleveland, Ohio started their journey together during a late night improvised jam session. After a combination of excitement and way too many drinks, they woke up the day after with the urge to record those melodies…. and of course a big hangover! Most people move to LA to make their dreams ()

Empire Escape
Concert

This Friday evening we welcome Empire Escape to the hotel for a lobby concert. Empire Escape is a new version of a band that already exists. As change is always a sign of evolution, the band members wanted to give a stronger emphasis to this moment, celebrating their new start with a brand new name. “The band Ikaria had to die to let Empire Escape live” they said… As the new name brings ()

Sinkane
Mean Love

If you happen to bump into this softly-spoken, sweet-smelling gentleman in the lobby… not the one on the left obviously ;)… congratulations are in order! Yesterday he just released his new album Mean Love. And we’ve totally fallen love with it! It’s a record full of energy and rhythm which make you wanna go out into the sunshine and dance; electro-pop infused through with the influences of Africa, Sudan, Ethiopia and ()
