It’s Tiki Taka Half-Time!
For Part 1, this Monday (23 June) evening we welcome Rubblebucket to play.
This seven piece band can be considered a full orchestra of sounds: a mix of synths, guitars, harmonies, horns, vocals and saxophone. And just as their sound is such a mixture, so too their music influences cannot be defined. Psychedelic rock, reggae, dance, dub and electro all feature there.
These guys are surrounded by great people from the music scene: their first album was produced by Eric Broucek (LCD Soundsystem, !!!, Holy Ghost!), and they have collaborated with tUnE yArDs and Questlove for a Fela Kuti compilation.
Their upcoming full length album Survival Sounds is produced and mixed by John Congleton (well known for his work for St. Vincent and David Bryne). They’ve been working on it for over a year and it’s finally ready for official release on August the 26th.
They said about it: “it pretty much contains every scrap of soul, blood, sweat and tears we could possibly muster.”
Definitely a good reason to be looking forward to it!
From 8pm.
