Thank you
I’m A Kombo

Last week I’m A Kombo returned to the hotel to present The Social Act – their extraordinary dining experience. Over four hours, 16 guests were treated to delicious food and delectable wines. However The Social Act is about much more than eating and imbibing. The participants were invited to interact with their food and with each other, to complete dishes from the ingredients before them, and were taken to different spaces within the hotel ()

Egg
Painting

On Easter Sunday our Stammtisch was a hive of activity. Some of our hotel guests spent the morning painting Easter eggs in many colours and many varieties (definitely our first time seeing a banana easter egg)!

Aaron Roche –
HaHa HuHu Concert

Aaron Roche is a singer-songwriter with an ear for the avant-garde. He’s a contemporary composer who sings American folk music, and an instrumentalist who works as a recording engineer. He plays guitar in the touring bands of Sufjan Stevens, Anohni and Lower Dens, and he’s composed music for the American Ballet Theatre. He’s also played trumpet with his father’s brass ensemble! Last year he released his second album HaHa HuHu. At once wistful, sensitive ()

Movie
Night

We enjoyed hosting the Whiskey Room Kino so much over Christmas time, we’ve decided to keep it going. We’re doing so together with Behind the Tree, a streaming platform available in Germany for independent and arthouse films. It’s a platform not only with great films but one that ensures the filmmakers are paid fairly too. Ask for directions to the Whiskey Room at reception, and pick yourself up a drink from the bar on ()

YOGA at
Michelberger

We’re really pleased to now be offering a yoga class each Monday evening for our hotel guests in our serene studio up on the second floor. At 6:30pm Jadi leads us through a class which is both a relaxing and powerful way to start the week. Jadi is a dancer, choreographer and yoga teacher and the integration between body, mind and spirit is integral to her practice. She studies Nada and Mudra yoga and ()

World Peace
by doing the Work

Through a friend we encountered Byron Katie. Katie has a tool box that enables everyone to nothing less then reaching WORLD PEACE. By starting with yourself. Thoughts, thought very often, became beliefs, and those in a bundle become belief systems. Starting to question your thoughts on things and people is the road to end any suffering and to connect with every moment as it would be your first. That of ()

Dear
Volker

Usually the most inspiring people are also the most humble ones. Local legend Volker wears many colourful caps: carer, musician, restauranteur, DJ… but you’ll never hear him shouting about it! You can also add graphic designer to that list. Once in a while a crazy flyer turns up in our inboxes, always raising a smile. Here’s a collection of our favourites from down the years. Get well soon Volker!

Pair – Thank you
Lukas

It was wonderful to have Lukas Mraz cooking in our kitchen last night. He presented a beautiful and inspiring 8 course menu to 17 guests in the Whiskey Room, with paired wines selected by Emily. Thank you Lukas!

Our New
Bar

Last week we closed off our bar for five days and operated service out of the lobby. In the small hours of Saturday morning, a beautiful new, all-the-mod-cons, proper cocktail bar emerged from the dust! Our clever cocktail team have come up with some new additions for the list: Drew’s creation is the fountain of youth rum punch, made with hazelnut, honey, lime and coconut. And Jan’s contribution is the ()
